Meeting Summary:  This presentation will cover the history of Technology Assisted Review from the initial rollout of “Predictive Coding” to the current offering of “TAR 2.0” with Continuous Active Learning.  We will discuss the many benefits of using TAR, how to know whether learning is finished, common issues in the defensibility of TAR, and where TAR still has room to improve.


Presenter Bios:

  • Rick Anderson is a Senior Legal Technology Consultant at LLM with over 18 years of industry experience having managed relationships with some of North America’s largest law firms and corporations, consulting with them regarding eDiscovery Best Practices that span across the EDRM.  Authored an article about TAR published in Today’s General Counsel titled “How to Build a Better Playlist Using TAR”.
  • Richard Dilgren is LLM’s CTO and is a recognized leader in the discovery industry, especially in the areas of TAR system design and advanced analytics implementation.  He has designed CAL systems, guided case teams through TAR processes in some of the decade’s largest litigation matters, and successfully both defended TAR process and dissected opposing implementations.
