WiE are delighted to welcome 'The Juggling Act' to talk about parenting, the workplace & having "better Conversations".
About this Event
Are you expecting a baby? Do you see yourself trying for a baby in next 5 years? Have you recently had a baby or manage someone that has (or is potentially trying)? If so this event is for you – come and toast the end of January with us, spend some time investing in YOU and learning some practical tips to enhance the way we work, parent and lead in 2020.
We are all running our own ‘juggling acts’. Parent or not, each of us is trying to make the different aspects of our lives ‘work’ by keeping all the balls in the air. Career, learning, friends, family, household, community, exercise, sleep… the list goes on and on. When you add a baby to that equation, it can start to feel like a three ring circus!
Kindly hosted by Travers Smith and sponsored by London Legal, Claire & Chris, the founders of the Juggling Act, will be sharing their own stories about why they do what they do, what is changing (and what still needs to change) in the workplace.
Chris White will be bringing his background as a hostage negotiator to talk about how we have a ‘better conversation’ at work and at home.
Often when we think of ‘negotiation’ we think of conflict. Conflict is inevitable, but it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. From conflict between people, to conflicting priorities, needs and values, it is all around us.
Claire and Chris will be discussing how, when dealt with in the right way, we can bring negotiation from ‘zero sum game’ to a ‘triple win’ – a way of working, learning and supporting one another that works for the individual working parent, the company and society.
