WIE DENVER CHAPTER MEETING - SEPTEMBER 11, 2018
Dear WiE Members and Guests,
Please join us on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 for our next Denver WiE Chapter meeting. The meeting will be held at the Denver office of the Department of Justice. Please plan to arrive at 11:45 AM to grab lunch and a seat.
We are excited to welcome a Special Agent from the FBI Cyber Division/Denver Cyber Crime Task Force for a presentation on cybersecurity and best practices. We're looking forward to a great discussion on an important topic for all of us.
The FBI is the lead federal agency for investigating cyber attacks by criminals, overseas adversaries, and terrorists. The threat is incredibly serious—and growing. Cyber intrusions are becoming more commonplace, more dangerous, and more sophisticated. Our nation’s critical infrastructure, including both private and public sector networks, are targeted by adversaries. American companies are targeted for trade secrets and other sensitive corporate data, and universities for their cutting-edge research and development. Citizens are targeted by fraudsters and identity thieves, and children are targeted by online predators. The FBI is undertaking a transformation to address the pervasive and evolving cyber threat. This means enhancing the Cyber Division’s investigative capacity to sharpen its focus on intrusions into government and private computer networks.
If you are interested in attending, please RVSP. Guests are welcome and encouraged so bring your colleagues from the office along for this exciting presentation. We anticipate that this will be a highly attended presentation so make sure to reserve your seat early.
