This year’s charity is Dress for Success Charlotte. The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Dress for Success was founded in New York City in 1997 and is now in 152 cities in 28 countries. Dress for Success Charlotte was incorporated in 2000 and works in partnership with more than 60 referral agency partners. We all know that Dress for Success provides women with clothing for interviews, but they also help women put together work-appropriate wardrobes after they land a job. Every meeting this year, we’re going to be highlighting certain items to think about donating. And we are starting small. For our second meeting, we are encouraging everyone to bring new or gently used sweaters to the meeting where we will collect them for donation. But, of course, any donation is greatly appreciated!
