A SMART Approach to eDiscovery:
Strategic. Management. Agile. Resources. Technology.

Technology advances continue to bring new challenges every day to the well-established art of discovery.  With new sources and data volumes increasing by the minute, litigation counsel must take a strategic approach from identification to production.  It’s important to properly manage eDiscovery from the early stages of a matter in order to provide clients with increased defensibility and efficiencies (cost savings).  Counsel must also remember that the process is not linear, it’s agile in nature, so a flexible and iterative approach must be taken.  While this is part of the legal process, it is as much of a business and technological undertaking and the appropriate resources must be involved.  A critical component of this process is understanding how to leverage the appropriate technology at the right time.
