London Chapter Event

  • 18 Oct 2023
  • 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM (BST)
  • New Scotland Yard, London SW1A 2JL

We are so excited to announce our next event “MET SciTech: Unveiling the science behind investigations. Hosted on the top floor of New Scotland Yard, this extraordinary event is focused on some of the technology that the Metropolitan police use in the areas of digital forensics and investigations.

Hear from a number of Met Police experts to get an understanding of the tools and techniques of modern policing and gain some insight into the beginning of the criminal investigation and litigation process.

This is a unique opportunity to visit the famous New Scotland Yard building, with incredible views over the Thames, and will be a fascinating and informative event. Spaces are limited, so don’t wait to reserve your FREE ticket for this event.

Are you doing Sober October? So are WiE! Light refreshments will be provided, along with tea, coffee, and soft drinks.

As New Scotland Yard is a secure building, there are a few things to note for the night:

  1. Valid Photo ID – your name will be on a list, and you will need to show a valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport) at the front door to be admitted
  2. X-ray bag check – once inside, your bags will need to go through an x-ray scanner, and you’ll pass through a metal detector (like a mini airport security)
  3. Escorted up and back down – we will need to be escorted up to the room, and back down at the end of the event by a Met staff member
  4. No photos inside – you can take photos out the front of the building, and also outside on the balcony upstairs, but you can’t take photos anywhere else inside the building

If you have any queries, please let us know; we look forward to seeing you soon!
