Atlanta Chapter WiE Members,
Please join us for a day of GIVING BACK by volunteering at the Atlanta Community Food Bank on Sunday, December 15th from 1-4 pm. Register today to secure your spot!!
We only have 20 spots available, so please email us here if you are unable to register and want to be considered for future volunteer events so we can get a better idea of how many folks are interested in these types of events to better prepare next time. If you cannot make it or are unable to register due to the spots being filled please bring your non-perishable food items to our holiday party scheduled for December 4th.
Your volunteer commitment is an important step in the fight to end hunger. We’re excited to have you join us at the PRC!
Volunteer Confirmation Details
Youth Requirements: All minors are required to bring a volunteer waiver signed by a parent/guardian. You may download the waiver to sign at home HERE. We also require 1 adult chaperone for every 4 children (8-12 years) and 1 adult chaperone for every 8 youth (13-17).
Parking: Upon arrival into the main entrance (look for the big high sign with our orange peach logo), the parking lot will be to your left (on slight hill). After exiting your vehicle, look left for the fence covered walkway (affectionately known as “the cage”) with the Product Rescue Center Volunteers sign. Follow the fenced walkway to the PRC door.
Dress Code: Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are required, with sneakers or work boots recommended. Flips flops, sandals or heeled shoes are not allowed. Please wear comfortable clothing you do not mind getting a bit rumpled.
About the Product Rescue Center:
The Product Rescue Center (PRC) provides a great hands-on experience in a diverse and social atmosphere. Groups and individual volunteers come together to inspect, sort, and pack quality grocery donations to prepare for distribution to over 600 partner agencies across Georgia.
Food Donations: With 1 in every 5 Georgians and 1 in 4 Georgia children at risk of
hunger, the number of people requesting emergency food assistance continues to grow. If every volunteer visiting our Product Rescue Center brings just two cans of food, we would be able to provide approximately 2,750 additional meals each month!
*Please consider bringing as many nonperishable items as you can! You're already making a tremendous difference by volunteering. Think how much that can be magnified by grabbing a couple of food items to bring with you when you come! We're always in need of natural peanut butter, canned chicken, and canned fruits & vegetables. Thank you for volunteering with us. If you have any more questions, please let me know.
NOTE: Please call us no less than a week before your volunteer date for cancellations.
