The WiE Philadelphia Chapter invites you to our June 12th meeting. Pay Empowerment Forward

As our organization tag line reads, women empowering women. How did that come to be, why did the founders focus on it? How can we, as members, embrace this mantra and pay it forward and be a part of an empowerment circle? Come hear from WiE Co-Founder, Lana Schell Pellegrino, and first WiE Chapter Director and former Executive Director, Amy Bowser Rollins, on why as women we grow not only personally but as a group when we pay empowerment forward.

Speakers: Lana Schell Pellegrino and Amy Bowser-Rollins

A seasoned eDiscovery professional with more than 18 years of experience in the legal industry, Lana's experience ranges from consulting and managing large, complex electronic evidence projects for AmLaw250 law firms and Fortune 500 companies, as well as being an integral part of several eDiscovery software startup companies. Lana was the founder and former executive director for Women in eDiscovery, from 2006 to 2016. Lana currently works for Casepoint, a full strength, end to end, highly secure eDiscovery platform. At Casepoint, Lana consults with corporations and law firms on their use of legal technology and how to drive efficiencies when faced with investigations and litigations. In her free time, Lana volunteers in her community as an advocate to ensure that young girls and women have the resources and opportunities to thrive.

Amy Bowser-Rollins is a legal industry educator, passionate about helping legal professionals succeed. She has a stellar reputation in the litigation support industry amongst her peers and, in the words of her students and mentees, she genuinely cares about helping others.

Amy has been working in the legal industry since 1983. On the law firm side, she has been a billing administrator, a word processing supervisor, a legal secretary, a legal trainer, an applications specialist and a national litigation support manager. On the service provider side, she has been a managing director, a technology consultant and a director of litigation support services. In between, she has started three businesses on her own that provided services in the legal industry. Amy was on the management team of a non-profit, Women in eDiscovery, for eight years and she was an adjunct professor in Georgetown University's paralegal program for 5 years.

In Sept 2011, Amy launched a mentoring site, LitigationSupportGuru.com, to give back to the litigation support industry and to fill a gap in the education of a litigation support professional. Over the years, she has helped dozens of people find jobs in litigation support by providing 1:1 mentoring. Amy has a very popular Fast Tip Friday series where she recorded a new video tutorial every Friday for two years. In October 2017, she launched a weekly livestream show called Legal Tech Mastery.

Amy has worked on hundreds of electronic discovery cases and has gained extensive experience in the project management of complex litigation cases. She has years of experience with “second requests”, internal investigations, government investigations and productions to the SEC, DOJ, FTC, and USITC. She has provided consulting services and training to corporations and law firms and has been a frequent speaker at legal technology conferences. In addition, she has attended 30(b)(6) depositions as an electronic discovery expert.

As a reminder, we would love to see new members. If you bring a colleague to a meeting, you will be entered to win a prize. Drawings will take place later this year and the top prize is 2 suite tickets to see the Phillies.

Kindly RSVP if you plan to attend and include the name of your guest with your response.
