Maureen O’Neill is Senior Vice President—Discovery Strategy & Data Privacy/Security at DiscoverReady. Maureen works with clients and our internal operations teams to develop and execute effective, cost-efficient strategies for e-discovery, managed document review, and information governance. She oversees DiscoverReady’s industry-leading document review operations nationwide, managing a team of full-time attorneys who implement bespoke document review workflows that employ the most up-to-date best practices, technology, and analytics. Maureen and her team work closely with DiscoverReady’s Analytics & Automation group, who incorporate powerful, cutting-edge analytics tools into our clients’ standardized e-discovery workflows. Maureen’s focus on innovation enables DiscoverReady to set industry standards for quality, security, and defensibility.

Maureen speaks and writes frequently on significant issues that impact DiscoverReady’s clients, such as current legal challenges around data security and privacy, the use of advanced analytical tools and statistical validation in litigation discovery, and methods for managing the proliferation of electronic information in legal matters. Her presentations range from large industry conference sessions to one-on-one delivery of CLE programming to clients. Maureen also participates actively in the Sedona Conference Working Groups on Electronic Document Retention and Production, and Data Security and Privacy Liability.

Prior to joining DiscoverReady, Maureen was a partner at Paul Hastings LLP, where she represented Fortune 100 and other multinational companies in complex employment litigation, including class and collective actions. Maureen developed unique experience in the production of data from complicated, voluminous databases such as human resources information systems and operational databases, and in using statistical analyses of those data in employment litigation. Maureen also co-chaired the Firm’s E-Discovery Practice Group. In that role, she advised clients on various e-discovery issues, such as identifying and inventorying sources of electronic information, drafting legal hold notices, and developing protocols for document collection, storage, and management. She also consulted internally with attorneys at the Firm on e-discovery issues, and helped develop best practices for litigators engaged in e-discovery practice.
