Mit dem Begriff der Hexe sind Wahnvorstellungen verbunden, die in der mittelalterlichen Hexenverfolgung gipfelten. Aber Hexen wurden auch als weise Frauen gesehen - und dennoch verfolgt. Folter und Hexenprozesse waren die traurige Konsequenz. Rechtshistorisch sind diese Vorgänge aber auch heute noch interessant, geben sie doch Einblicke in eine uns (glücklicherweise) sehr fremde Gedankenwelt.
Der Jurist und Rechtshistoriker Dr. Markus Hirte wird am 08.12.2021 um 13.00 Uhr in einem Online-Vortrag einen Einblick in die Welt der Hexen geben. Dr. Markus Hirte, LL.M. ist seit 2013 geschäftsführender Direktor des Mittelalterlichen Kriminalmuseums in Rothenburg, Europas bedeutendstem Rechtskundemuseum. Seine Forschungs- und Interessenschwerpunkte sind die ältere und neuere Strafrechtsgeschichte, insbesondere mittelalterliches Kirchenstrafrecht, Inquisitionsverfahren, Hexenverfolgungen, die Entwicklung der Todesstrafe sowie das Stiftungsrecht. Vor seiner Tätigkeit für das Mittelalterliche Kriminalmuseum arbeitete Hirte knapp sieben Jahre als Rechtsanwalt in Stuttgart, Berlin und London.

WiE Boston Chapter and ACEDS New England are pleased to announce an “in-person” holiday social & networking event. We are bringing our local community together to celebrate the holidays and to reconnect downtown before the start of the winter season. We’ll be providing hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and a fun, festive private event space for this holiday open house. In order to maintain the safest space for our members and guests, we will need to adhere to the following Covid safety guidelines and protocols. We will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test performed within the last 72 hours upon entry to this event. In addition, all attendees will need to provide their phone number and email address when registering for the event and when gaining access to the venue in the event contract tracing is required.

LA Chapter Holiday Party
Women in eDiscovery will hold its annual conference at Paradise Point, San Diego’s Island Resort, San Diego, CA, May 2 – 4, 2022.
The conference theme is “Knowledge, Network and Revive.” The core elements will include educational sessions, many network and relationship-building opportunities and ways to revive the passion for professional and personal wellness.
The conference will also commemorate Women in eDiscovery’s 15-year anniversary. There will be special celebrations and the conference and across all chapters throughout the year.
The WiE conference will be in person only. Conference registration is being offered exclusively to WiE members beginning December 1. Starting on January 1, 2022, registration will then open to the public.
High-level conference details and the agenda are available on the WiE website. More information will be added as it becomes available. This conference is expected to sell out from both an attendee and sponsorship perspective, so members are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
