New York Chapter Meeting: Rise of the Robot

  • 26 Oct 2017
  • 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM (EDT)
  • Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann LLP 1251 6th Avenue New York, NY 10020

Cravath is presenting this month’s topic, “Rise of the Robot Lawyers? How Data Analytics Is Changing the Practice of Law.”

Rapid developments in technology are increasingly exposing traditional industries to disruption, and the legal field is no exception. Hype about "AI", "automation" and "robot lawyers" abounds, but what do these emerging technologies really mean for the practice of law, both present and future? This session will introduce the concept of data analytics, and discuss how advances in technology are allowing its tools and techniques, already famous for their revolutionary impact on other industries, to be brought to bear on legal problems. The panel will discuss some of the novel legal and ethical issues that arise from this directional shift in the profession, and how firms, and individual attorneys law, will need to adapt to keep pace. For both corporate and litigation attorneys.

This presentation will be given by Scott Reents, Lead Attorney of Data Analytics and eDiscovery, and James Desjardins, Associate Director of Practice Technology.

This event will take place on Thursday, October 26th 2016 from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm.
